Xoxo~

Hey all! I hope that you have been great =)

This is my last time here, so I'm doing a kind of summary about my experience as a blogger.

I really enjoy it! I like writing very much, so it was a fun thing to do, besides, at the beginning we had to choose the topics we wanted to write about, therefore, there were fine and quite interesting, so it was a gooood experience.

Writing this blog of course helped me with my english, but the most important thing, for me, at least, was that it allowed me to know a lot more about my classmates. So I'm very grateful with my teacher for that oportunity, and for all the hard work that he did with us this term! Of course with my classmates too, for sharing their experiences with everybody.

Anyway, is not all sweet. Blogging from here, my house, is a completely different thing than have to do it from university’s PC’s...really, it SUCKS. Computers at university are freakin’ slow, and they crashed very often. So that is a huuuge disadventage...it takes you forever to finish sometimes! Some people even couldn’t write anything at all, because the internet connection was bad. Come on, what a shame! But the good thing is the fact that writing makes the class sort of “lighter” and that is always something to feel grateful for.

So that’s all, I think. It have been a pleasure write for you all, I hope that you have enjoyed it as much as I did. Take care, and see you around!!

Greetings,
K’!

The end of the beginning

My end here is probably nearer than anyone's, so I'm taking this chance to say that I'm done here. Next year I want to start studying graphic design (but this term is going to be my last one here, anyway), also here in Universidad de Chile, which is my real passion and deepest wish...So I think that I have to write about this topic according to that little detail.

In 7 years from now, I hope that I have my title! But I can’t be completely sure about it. After that I want to travel and do some post-grade study, ideally in Europe.

I don't know very well my new career, but I would like to work in publicity area, a fashion magazine, or try to start an independent cool little design store. Any of the three would be nice. Also, I would love to work in a city like Paris, London or Milan...it would be just perfect.

My ideal job would be an independent one, with me as my only boss...and maybe a partner. Working hours would depend on my hypothetical store's popularity, but I don't think that less than 6 or 7 hours a day, from Monday to Friday would be possible or profitable. Also I would need time to think and make the things I'm going to sell, as I'm going to design them too.

I don't expect a lot of money, only the necessary to have a good life; I prefer having good, interesting and well qualified people working with me in a comfortable and nice place, than being rich.

Despite I’m leaving public administration, I admire all my classmates (and hopefully brilliant future professionals) and deeply respect their area. I know that all of you you will be great!

Once upon a time...

I think that I’m a pretty good reader, or I was...at least. Honestly, with university I don’t have much free time and I don’t read like I was used to when I was in school. It’s a pitty, really! Anyway, I still love reading...but novels! Of course I have a loooot to read, but for me it isn’t like “real” reading, is just studying.

I like reading because it helps me to disconnect myself of reality, visit other worlds and times. It’s like having my own time machine, just awesome.

Right now, I’m not really reading anything (but university stuff), but I kinda have on stand-by a novel from Anne Rice, called Lestat the Vampire. It’s about a vampire and his life... the novel is the second one of a saga called Vampire Chronicles, the first is Interview with the vampire, is quite famous, I think...it has even a movie (which is not that bad).

My boyfriend also borrowed me Tokyo Blues (Norwegian Wood), by Haruki Murakami. It’s his favourite book and he think that I would like it too, so I will definitely give it a try.

My special book, of all times and no matter what, will be always Harry Potter. The whole story and characters just trapped me since the Philosopher’s Stone.

I don’t really think that paper books will dissapear, it would be terrible! It’s like killing the magic and the mystery that the book implies. Also, they are a lot of people that just can’t read of a screen much time. I hope that paper books never die...

To promote reading among young, old, and everyone; the State could say to the MINEDUC that just one book a month is nothing for kids! They should push them to read more.

In addition, of course they could try to lower the taxes of the books!!

Just the same

I think that public policies, mainly try to look for benefits for women, and only for them, when the real issue is not to privilege any gender, and search the real equality, instead of trying to give something to women and not to men.

The problem, in my opinion, is that public policies try to benefit each genbder, but in separate ways, not as a common wealth, which is the way that it should be.

About opportunities to take part in the decision-taking processes that will result in public policies, I think that the probem there is deeper. For me, neither of them, men and women, have enough part in that processes, so the whole current system, apart form gender issues, must be revised (and after that, include on it same opportunities for both genders, of course).

If we’ re speaking about reaching more egalitarian ACCESS to labour, health and education, I would dare to say that yes, we are...little by little, maybe, but yes we are. The problem here is the unequal possibilities of development after you have already accessed to the system. The classic example of salary differences and the companies that don’t allow women to ascend as much as a man does. I hope that it change as soon as possible.

I deeply wish for me, my classmates and other future colegues, to be able to help changing the inequalities that now exists in our society by having a straight thought that allow us to create public policies with justice.

Thx a lot, hightech!

My favourite piece of technology is absolutely my mp3.

I got it like 3 years ago, when my best friend bought herself an iPod, and decided to give her old mp3 to me as a gift. She knows I love music and I had just a discman, which is very useful and I already use, but it's not very comfortable speaking about space (too big), weight (very heavy) and you have to carry a lot of CD's with you if you want to listen a lot of music, so it was a great gift and a nice detail what she did, also I think of her when I use it.

I use it every single day during my journey to university, I have to travel like 50 minutes from my house to get here, so it's very useful and it helps me to improve the trip.
Also I listen to music on it when I'm drawing, sometimes reading (or studying), when I go to the beach or at any kind of trip. I love listening to music when I'm doing nothing in particular, just laying back on my bed and before sleep, it's very relaxing and helps me to shake the stress of the day away.

I like it because it's my unconditional companion, it makes me happy when I'm sad or depressed, helps me to relax myself and have a good time anywere, even if I'm with bad company or in a bad place. It disconnect myself from the rest of the world and "protect" me form the outside, both of them things I like to do very much. Sometimes my parents get annoyed because of that, but it doesn't really matters.

Life would simply suck if I hadn't have my mp3...I can't imagine myself getting here every day just listening the sound of the subway or other people's conversations, when there is a blackout or anything I can use it to do something fun with my little brother too, we can share the headphones and know that everything will be all right; listen to the radio and inform ourselves a little bit, etc.

In case that you didn't notice...I LOVE my mp3! ♥

Seventh Art Lover

I think that I'm a very weird person in this topic...really, I don't have a favourite kind of films, but I enjoy very much a good action movie (with content on it, of course...not just explosions and special effects) and I also tend to judge a movie for his actors.

On the other side, It's strange with terror films and thrillers...I like to watch them, indeed, but after that, it's awful (like, when I'm alone and have to go to bed...haha).

I have a love/hate relationship with the book's adaptations too. I know that they usually sucks and kill the book, but despite that fact, I go to the cinema and watch them no matter the prejudice. For example, Harry Potter movies (AWFUL!, really) I have gone to the avant premiere of some of the movies, or the premiere day...but NEVER the day after, and with every single movie I get more dissapointed, it's sad...but I'm still hopeful! (Silly of me, I know).
With The Lord of the Rings is other story, anyway. I like a lot that adaptation, good job, Peter Jackson!

I prefer the cinema, totally. It's absolutely more exciting, but I'm not sure about the 3D stuff...speaking of that, I was looking forward to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but now I have recieved comments that are letting me down, it seems that it won't fulfill my expectatives, I don't know what's happening with Burton, I hope he doesn't fall in the cliches, it would be a pity. Anyway, Burton! Big Fish, I LOVED that movie...also Memories of a Geisha and Shine, I don't have a favourite movie, but that 3 are totally in my top 10.

You rock my world ♥

Music is eeeeverything!!

Seriously, I'm the kind of person that is ALWAYS with headphones on, singing something, or saying stuffs like "Hey! Did you hear "x" song?" "Do you know "x" band?" or "I listened the BEST SONG IN THE WOOORLD!!" (almost every week LoL), my friends always make fun of me because of that.

Actually, I like very kinds of music...depends on the moon which style I will listen each day, but I prefer rock or pop most of the time. There's some people who can't stand music in "weird" languages, but I like very much j-pop and j-rock (japanese pop and rock), a few k-pop songs (korean pop), apart from music in spanish, english, portuguese, german, french, italian, finn...and some mixes!

Some time ago, a friend of my dad showed me a very good web where you can listen online music called grooveshark.com, it's really useful! and you don't have to deal with virus and annoying things like these, so check it out =)
Nevertheless, I LOVE having original CD's from my favorite bands ans singers, DVD's and all of that. It feels like it sounds different, much better, but I know is just romanticism, haha. Well, that's why I have no problem with carrying my mp3, discman and cellphone sometimes (LoL!).

I don't have a single fav band or singer, but I really like Nightwish (kind of lyric metal finn band, it's awesome!), Muse (alternative british rock), Oasis (same thing), Ke$ha (pop!), Lady Gaga (she's freakin' good, haha), Britney Spears, L'arc~en~Ciel (j-pop/rock) and maaaany more. Now I'm listening to The Beatles a lot, thanks to my boyfriend...I used to hate them! But not anymore =)

I totally listen music while I'm working (even reading, sometimes), studying, travelling, eating, sleeping (really, haha)...I love to listen Oasis or Muse before fall asleep.

So, life would be a mistake without music.
